Small grants scheme

This Scheme seeks to support a range of local voluntary organisations (eg care charities, arts groups, sports clubs and youth groups). It offers modest contributions to help with:

• running costs (care groups only) or
• specific projects (£3,000 maximum per award although, in practice, grants tend to be limited to below £1,000).

The total budget for such grants is just over £25,000 per annum.

The following are not eligible

• Organisations with no tangible presence in the district
• Commercial organisations
• Schools
• Parish Councils
• Individuals.

Projects must benefit Tandridge residents and should not conflict with the Council's corporate objectives.

Both applicant organisations and their proposed projects must be financially viable.

The Council must not be the sole contributor (ie funding should also come from the organisation itself and/or other sources).

Small Grants Application - specific projects

As stated within the criteria, requests for assistance with the following types of project will be considered:

• performances (e.g. concerts and theatrical productions)
• start up activities
• initiatives that extend or enhance the activities already being undertaken.

Grants will not be provided for the direct provision of vehicles or improvements to premises.
