Bluetongue protection zone



The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has declared a Bluetongue Protection Zone.

1. This declaration is made under regulation 13 of the Bluetongue Regulations 2008 ("the Regulations").

2. Terms defined in the Regulations have the same meaning in this declaration.

3. The Chief Veterinary Officer has confirmed Bluetongue on premises in England.

4. The Secretary of State declares that:

(i) England is a restricted zone in which the measures in regulation 13 of the Regulations apply; and

(ii) that restricted zone consists entirely of a protection zone.

5. The Declaration of a Protection Zone made at 11am 8 August 2008 under the Bluetongue Regulations 2008 is revoked and replaced by this declaration.

6. This declaration comes into force on 1 September 2008.
