Housing services - what we do

The Council's Housing Services division employs the equivalent of 70 full-time staff and is split into four main work areas:

• Estate Management (This link will open in a new window) (responsible for managing the Council's housing stock, including flats that are 'owned' by leaseholders (This link will open in a new window))
• Project Control (This link will open in a new window) (responsible for the effective maintenance of the Council's housing stock)
• Housing Needs (This link will open in a new window)(manages the challenging task of trying to balance the demand for housing with the availability of accommodation)
• Enabling and Private Sector (This link will open in a new window) (responsible for wide ranging functions, including the production of housing strategies, working with Housing Associations to enable the provision of new affordable homes; tackling deficient accommodation in the private sector and helping vulnerable owner occupiers to continue to live independently.)
