Appointments
We operate an appointments system on a first come, first served basis. This ensures fair and equal treatment. Availability of appointments and turnaround depends upon demand and the current position will be advised when booking

Presently, we can accommodate 8 personal searches a day and these can be picked up between 10.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m. daily.

Availability of information
A Personal Search relates to Parts 1-12 of the Local Land Charge Register only and is made available by application to Land Charges through the appointments system and on receipt of the appropriate fee.

Other e-public registers are freely available 24/7. These may be found on the Council's online planning system. This site operates on the principle of a self-service approach to public register information. It is recommended that all 'informatives' are checked before use and that the basic operating instructions are viewed before starting

It should be noted however that much of this information is in its unrefined state and that 'refined' or 'compiled' data is not provided. Other Con29 type information is supplied by agencies such as Surrey County Council (Highways) and may be found on the web or via Planning Interactive

The Council operates common hours of access for inspection of public records

Charging

The current fee for a personal search of the Land Charge Register is £11.

Payment for a Personal Search is currently by cheque made payable to Tandridge District Council although e-payments are also an option

Re-use of data
It should be noted that the re-use of information provided by the Council is not permitted

Attribution
It is expected that all Personal Search Companies will make it clear to their clients that the search information has been compiled by the searcher and not the local authority. Any subsequent queries regarding issues arising from personal searches are always referred to the companies involved.

Liability
While every care has been taken to ensure the accuracy and the completeness of the compiled or uncompiled information provided, the Council cannot be held responsible for any errors, misuse or its misinterpretation

The Council accepts no liability for any loss, damage or inconvenience caused as a result of reliance on this information other than such liability as may be laid down by statute. It is accordingly advised that information be thoroughly checked before supplying it to any third party.

Insurance

Please note that LLC1s and CON29 searches are backed by the Council's insurance whereas personal search results are not.

Complaints
The Council operates a compliments and complaints procedure.
