If you prefer not to submit your application through Planning Portal, you can download a PDF form instead. Please note that this form cannot be completed electronically; it must be downloaded, printed, and completed by hand.

After you submit your application
Once submitted, applications are checked to ensure all documents and fees required have been correctly submitted so that the application can be validated. If any documents/fees are missing, you will be requested to provide these details before the application can be considered.

We will assess your submission against the national and local information checklists to ensure we have enough information to validate your application. Only valid applications will be subject to publicity/ consultation and passed to planning officer for assessment.
If you do not submit the correct information including the checklist and the application fee, your application will be considered ‘invalid’ and we will write to you to advise the information/ fees required to validate your application and the timescales to provide it.

We no longer support the Ordnance Survey Map Return Scheme. Ordnance Survey maps are available online when making a planning application through the Planning Portal.

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)
Community Infrastructure Levy CIL is a charge on some forms of new development collected to deliver infrastructure improvements in areas such as transport, education, health and leisure, as development comes forward.
The levy is charged on a £s per square metre (sqm) basis which will be applied to all planning permissions granted on or after 1 December 2014. The rates that will be applied to qualifying development in this district is set out below.
